A local garage door team for Boston homeowners

When a garage door stops working, you usually need to know three things: what is wrong, what it will cost, and how soon it can be fixed. Everest Garage Doors is a family-owned, insured company based in Newton and run by owner Noam. We are a new company, founded in 2026, and we are building our name on plain promises rather than big claims: open hours you can plan around, clear pricing, and technicians who treat your home with respect.

We repair garage doors in Boston by naming the part that failed and fixing that part. A door that slams down, hangs crooked, grinds, reverses or will not move at all is almost always one of a short list of problems: a spring, a cable, a roller, a sensor, a bent panel, a door off its track, or an opener. Each has its own service page below, so you can read about the problem before you call.

Broken springs and stuck doors: same-day service

A loud bang from the garage, followed by a door that will not lift, usually means a broken spring. Springs hold the full weight of the door under tension, so please do not try to lift the door by hand or loosen anything yourself. Same-day service is available for broken springs and stuck doors, and our technicians can replace the spring and check the cables, rollers and balance while they are there.

If your door is stuck open at night, call us. Our after-hours note is simple: for urgent issues like a broken spring or a door stuck open, call and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are closed on major holidays.

Garage door repair questions in Boston

Why won't my garage door open?

The usual causes are a broken spring, an opener problem, or a trolley that has disconnected from the door. If you hear the opener running but the door stays put, the trolley may be disconnected. If the door feels very heavy by hand or you heard a bang, a spring has probably broken. Call us and we will sort out which it is.

What should I do if I heard a loud bang from the garage?

That sound is often a torsion spring breaking. Do not try to lift the door by hand, because the door may be much heavier than normal and can fall. Keep people and cars clear of it and call us. Same-day service is available for broken springs.

How much does garage door spring replacement cost?

The price depends on the spring type and the door. Our pricing is upfront and flat-rate, and estimates are free.

My garage door closes and then reverses. What is wrong?

This is often a sensor issue. Check that the two small sensors near the floor are clean, aimed at each other and not blocked. If the light on one is blinking, they are probably misaligned. If that does not help, limit settings or the opener may need attention, and we can take a look.

My door is crooked or came off the track. Can I fix it myself?

We advise against it. A door that is off track or hanging from a snapped cable is under tension and can fall. Please leave the door alone and call us to repair it safely.

My garage door is stuck open at night. Who do I call?

Call (857) 420-4277. For urgent problems like a broken spring or a door stuck open, call after hours and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are closed on major holidays.

Should I repair or replace my garage door?

A single failed part like a spring, cable or roller is usually a repair. If panels are badly damaged or the door has repeated problems, a new door may make more sense. We will tell you which we think fits, and estimates are free.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, credit card, debit card, check, Zelle and Venmo.
