A new opener, set up to suit your door
An opener that grinds, shakes, reverses for no reason or just stops working is worth replacing before it leaves you stuck. Some homeowners also want a quieter motor, a wall-mounted unit that frees up ceiling space, or a modern opener on an older door. Everest Garage Doors installs openers for all of these cases.
We are a family-owned, insured company based in Newton, run by owner Noam. We install openers from the brands most homes already use, including LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Marantec, Sommer, Linear and Stanley. If you already have an opener in mind, we can install it. If you are not sure which type to choose, we can talk through the options.
The usual choices are chain drive, belt drive and wall-mount. Chain drive openers are sturdy and common. Belt drive openers tend to run more quietly, which matters if your garage sits under a bedroom or shares a wall with living space. Wall-mount openers sit beside the door instead of running a rail down the middle of the ceiling, which can help in garages with tight or crowded headroom. The right pick depends on your door, your garage and how you use it.
If you are replacing an opener or a whole door, we offer free estimates. We also have a Free Estimates on Replacements promotion, a no-cost, no-obligation quote on a new garage door or opener replacement, that runs through December 19, 2026.

How an opener installation works
Call or book online
Tell us about your door, your current opener and what you want from a new one. We will find a time that works.
We check the door and choose the opener
Before installing anything, we look at the door and its balance. A new opener cannot make up for a worn spring or a door that is out of balance, so we check this first.
Installation and setup
We mount the opener, connect it to the door, and set the travel limits so the door stops where it should. We also set up the safety sensors and the remotes or wall control.
Testing and cleanup
We run the door through its full cycle, show you how everything works, and clean up before we leave.

Garage door opener installation: common questions
How much does garage door opener installation cost?
The price depends on the type of opener, the brand and your door. We use upfront, flat-rate pricing and offer free estimates. Call us with your door details and we can talk through the options.
Should I choose a chain, belt or wall-mount opener?
Chain drive is a dependable, common choice. Belt drive is usually quieter, which helps if living space is next to or above the garage. Wall-mount openers save ceiling space and suit some garages with limited headroom. We can help you choose among LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie and other brands.
My garage door will not open. Is it the opener or the spring?
If the motor runs but the door barely moves, or the door feels very heavy when you lift it by hand, a broken spring is a likely cause. If the opener hums and the trolley has come loose from the door, it may be disconnected rather than broken. If nothing happens at all, it could be the opener, the power or the remote. We can find out which before you buy a new opener.
I heard a loud bang from the garage. What should I do?
That sound is often a torsion spring breaking. Do not try to lift the door by hand, because it can be very heavy without the spring. Call us instead. We offer same-day service for broken springs and stuck doors.
My door will not close or goes back up. Do I need a new opener?
Not always. A blinking sensor light or sensors that have been knocked out of alignment are common causes. Wipe the lenses and check that nothing blocks the beam. If the problem continues, the limit settings or the opener itself may need attention, and we can take a look.
When is it better to replace an opener than repair it?
If the opener has repeated problems, is very loud, or will not work with newer remotes and sensors, replacement often makes more sense. If the fault is small, such as a sensor or a remote, repair may be enough. We will tell you which we think is better.
My garage door is stuck open at night. What can I do?
Call us at (857) 420-4277 and leave a message. For urgent issues like a broken spring or a door stuck open, we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are closed on major holidays.
